30 BJD Things in 150 Days #13, #23 and #7

The sun has decided to come! and I have to say I'm really loving it!

I have been getting in some good face-up practice with all this sunshine, and I'm seeing some improvement!
I finished the Face-up for number #13 and #23 yesturday, but I just finished taking the Photos for my "photostory" post. Okay it's not a photo story it's just going into the gallery, but when I took the photos I was planning on it being a photo story, so it's the thought that counts and I'm ticking it off the list anyway xD

I wasn't planning on doing Sorao's new face-up so soon, but about two days after the meet-up, I discovered some of the pastels had come off her nose, so I just re-did the whole thing ><
I think her's really shows my improvement, and my pics don't show it at all. I didn't give her brow hairs in this one as I wanted to see how that would look, and her lips are very soft. the face-up is more pinky IRL ><

Minnette's face-up is getting wiped tonight, so I finally took pictures of her, before it left. I want the next one to have a strawberry, cream and peaches feel to it, don't think I'll start it this week tho.

More doll Plans

So, after the meetup, I have yet again come to the decision, I want another doll.
This time, it's a PlanetDoll 27cm!
Chari brought her little Aanya to the meet-up, she's the little one in the little tan one in the handmade brown and green polka dot dress, and I kept thinking about her.

For a little while now I'v really wanted a Pokemon trainer OC of mine as a doll, but finding Pokemon figures and balls for SDs and MSDs just don't have the right scale, at all, and YoSDs are too childish. I have never looked at Planetdoll before but I keep thinking of this girl and...I think this size would be perfect! There are several pokemon Gachpa machines over town and one of my housemates has a GINORMOUS collection that he might let me borrow that would be perfectly in scale for a mature 27cm doll.

So now PlanetDoll MiniTara is on my list. There are no pictures of her minni form on the website, but here is an owner pic of the 43cm size from DoA

I intent to send her away as well for an eye open and lip opening mod. I think the eye shape would be nice in a Delf Soony Style, but I wonder if that would make her look too childish, hrmmmm

But of course this is AFTER I get my Minifee, and I'm still making hungry eyes at Doll Leaves Even, ooooh he's sexy. I'm just lucky none of my dolls are limited, phew!

On another note, I also ordered some eyes through Captured in Glass over on DoA. I picked up about nine pairs of eyes in 14mm  so I can't wait to see them in person. I'll have a decent variety now, and I'm very glad to have finally done so. I should get a box or something for holding them maybe?

I know there are allot of thing I could have done before I moved into this rainy area, but it's pretty obvious that there are a few items on The List that  simply are not going to happen because of it. So I'm putting an updated list here, containing just the items I have not already done, and removing the things I can not do because of the rain.

6. Sculpt some mini food props
7. Create a photostory and post it to DoA
8. A gallery post for Cadence
9. Sew an outfit for Soroa
11. Sew and outfit for Lamalass
12. Sculpt Sorao's ears
15. Take a BJD Family photo

19. Create a full outfit set for at least one doll.

So That an is an updated list everything I hope to do in the next 11 days, yes I'm insane. Guess this mean less video games xD

30 BJD Things in 150 Days # 2

Ah, I feel so bad posting this today ><
Today was the doll meet, and I really really wanna blog about that, but I'll feel bad if I don't update this first and give some attention to Sorao, so Here is an update to The List.


Even as I'm typing the rain's still coming down outside, but I still managed to get this face-up done!
I decided it was going to be Sorao who I brought to the meet. I think it was because I had just finished cleaning her head, and had bonded with her most recently. So about nine finish days before the meet, I started her face-up on the one sunny day we had. Cue rain for the next six days. So I pretty much had to stick it out at one point and just paint her face-up, regardless of the rain outside, because  I really wanted her to come, and she needed a finished face-up for that.

I'm actually happy with how her face-up came out. You can't see it in the photos, but I really like the pastel work on her eyebrow, not the water colour pencil, but the symmetry is okay. This is the first SD face-up I'v actually liked the results of, so I feel I have improved here! And here is Sorao with her pretty new face-up, and ready for the meet.

So there are 11 days left to finish my list.... This is soooooooooo not going to happen xD

Doll Space

So I mentioned posting pictures about my Dolly work area. took me a little while to set it up as I was waiting for the moving van to get here *grumbles something about bad delivery* but once I had it, it was up in a matter of days. As you can see, my dolls space is also my sewing space and is very, very, 'me'. I love my workstation, it makes the work that much more enjoyable, yay! 

Big news from the New Home

See, I am updating, haha!

Well like I said, I have something to show off today!

This is my new Shale Head from Soom. I bought her second hand on the MP, after falling in love with her pictures on the company site, I decided I wanted her. Of course now that I have her I have run into two issues. 

First. Getting the MSD size Soom body, is impossible unless you buy a whole doll anyway from the site

Second. SHE IS AN EXACT COPY OF MINNETTE! Only in big size.

I'm really not sure how I feel about having two dolls of the same sculpt in my house to be honest. I don't really care for the double up sculpt, but I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. Far from what I intended for her, I'm going to get her some Kivi parts and a body and turn her into a Black or White Cat style girl, but again, I'm just not sure. Maybe with some eyes and the right wig she'll start talking to me, but I'm still thinking about putting her back on the MP.

So that's ONE new doll, now to talk about the other. 

Oh yeah.

I'm getting another.

Remember how I said Twin-B was going to be the next doll I get? well, I GOT HER!!! and OMG I am so happy about it! Initially I found HIM on the MP as a Set with Tender Twin-Key for a fantastic price. 

The pair had been sitting there since Christmas not moving.

 However I had never wanted a Twin-B boy, but a girl. So I pmed the seller and she very kindly not only let me put her on a layaway, but swapped his body for the Twin-key's! So now I have a beautiful Twin-B girl on her way to me! So far I have been waiting 24 days ( along time for a second hand doll, damn island Continent ) and I can't wait until she gets here! I will post pictures as soon as I can

In my other activities I have become active on two different DoA boards, the DoC topic and Crobi. both move at a decent space and I have made a couple friend in the rooms, I'm happy to finally have found some kind of Niche on the forum, and even another soon-to-be dolly Mummy in Perth who has agreed a Penpal friendship between our girls ( when they get here ) would be a great idea. Yay new friends for me and my dolls! 

Being the New Girl ( Again )

As I mentioned, I moved house recently. Actually I moved back I should say,to my old city where I graduated high school. I'm now living with six other housemates ( including my BF ) and have take up one entire corner of the house for my dolls and sewing ^^ I'll post pictures of me New-New BJD work station tomorrow. ANYWAY! The point of this post is that while doing my rounds on DoA, I found another BD enthusiast who lives in my area! I sent her a small message saying hi and that it was nice to see other BJDs in such a small place. She responded back delighted to have me on board and gave me a quick run down on the other people in town. Apparently there are about four of us, which I don't think is too bad, and invited me to meet everyone sometime.

In just about about a week later, I got another lovely message organizing a group meet-up! There will be about three of us going apparently, and I am really looking forward to it! My last BJD meet gave me a wonderful insight into what the social side of the hobby could be like and I sincerely hope this will not be the last time I meet up with them all. Maybe we can even do group photo shoots or mini swap meets or something xD I don't know heh heh.

This meet I really want to bring Sorao! But right now, she has no face-up what-so-ever, and the meet is in seven days! Oh my gosh, I'm fretting over it. I know normally this wouldn't be an issue but the weather is still so muggy I can't dry any sealant in it, and I don't have a filter mask.
Hopefully I will get both in time to do this by the meet, and take my girl wearing that lovely DollHeart Fer I got some time ago.

Well that's my picture-less update for the while. My next post will have twice as many to make up for it, promise. I have BIG new to tell anyway so it kinda NEED picture heh heh. But as a hint, the "Runaways" title has a new name on it's page, just saying, haha

Double time!
I have had some time off lately and decided to finish up these outfits! I moved house, again and got a new job so busy busy kinda yeah. I hate the weather here, it's so unpredictable with rain and humid so often, I can't do face-ups. They are so few days to finish my list, and so much to dear me, AND I lost my air filter mask and my camera  these would have been uploaded earlier.

Before I moved tho I did give Oreo a face-up, which you can see him sporting in the shots as well. Yay three things off the list! ^^
